Spring in my step

Few things get me more excited than this time of year: It’s baseball season baby!

You would think as a fan of the Cleveland Indians I would know better by now. But even at 28 years old and knowing the Indians haven’t won a World Series since 1948, hope springs eternal.

So call me naive or dumb if you will, but I really think these 2009 Indians are going places. (more…)

Don’t jinx it

I try not to watch much SportsCenter these days – especially when they’re analyzing the upcoming NBA playoffs.

But it’s hard not to when you’re a Cleveland fan.

It’s hard not to sit right in front of the television and listen to every glowing report made about LeBron James and the Cavaliers. It’s hard not to put much stock in the team winning a franchise-record 60-plus games. It’s hard not to smile from ear to ear and wonder what could happen these next couple of months.

Then I remember why I’m so reluctant: I don’t want to jinx it. (more…)

For love of the game

Writing sports is a two-way street:You have to love writing/reporting just as much as you love sports in order for the marriage to work.
